Is all necessary paperwork at the financial aid office?
- All financial aid forms, including an institutional form;
- Documentation of income (copy of tax return, or letter from source of nontaxable income);
- SAR (Student Aid Report)
If the financial aid award letter includes a loan:
- Have you completed your section of the promissory note and submitted it to the financial aid
office?
- If you completed the loan application and the financial aid office notified you that your
check has arrived, have you gone to the aid office to sign it?
Other financial considerations:
- Are you eligible to receive a refund (money left in your account after tuition and fees are
paid, which can be used for other educational expenses)? It is usually available a few weeks
after classes begin.
- While at the financial aid office, did you ask if you can obtain a book voucher to help
purchase books? If your college does not provide them, you should set money aside for this
expense.
- Did you pay your registration fees? Remember, your financial aid award does not cover
these costs.
