You are more likely to secure scholarships that fit your background and interests. Students should apply first to scholarships targeting local area students, before applying to national scholarships.
If you're from Massachusetts or interested in going to school in Massachusetts, please check out our:
- Massachusetts Scholarship Database
This database lists grant opportunities that are separate and supplementary to the Federal, State, and School funding. Students can apply for these by completing the FAFSA, and sometimes the CSS Profile and/or Institutional Financial Aid Applications.
Another listing of local scholarships is available from the:
- Boston Mayor's Youth Zone College Guide
This directory includes information on local private scholarships (which they call 'community sponsored scholarships'), as well as national scholarships and local school-specific scholarships.
